As all of you know by now, the National Biennial Convention 2013 will be in Greenville (see "events") with Pat Howle in charge. Now, Pat and Carolyn Nelson and a group of people who are committed to help have been working behind the scenes to make this convention one to be remembered by all those who choose to attend. It will take all us of South Carolinia clubs to make this a success. One club has been having tee shirts made in all sizes to sell to support the cause. Patsy Whitaker and those in Bamberg are heading up this effort. If you are interested, please contact the Apollo Club for more information. The shirts, by the way, are lovely - "handsome" for those men who may want one. They are Federation blue and have NFMC printed on them.
The work that we have before us is staggering. You should hear how much work that Helena Meetze (our President) has done to stuff the gift bags with wonderful surprises. Margaret Ulmer has investigated some really smart bags and Deborah Freeman has been working on some truly neat name tags. If you have some ideas or funds for the cause, please contact Pat Howle at once. She is anxious to have lots of help with this undertaking.
The city of Greenville has been under "renovation" for several years now. Everywhere one goes there is something new - something of unusual interest from little mice on Main to the statues of famous people who were associated with putting the city "on the map". The Hyatt is undergoing a dramatic renovation that will completed well before our National buddies come to visit. Greenville has so much to see and we will have so little time to show it. Help us all you can. Pat will not turn down any donations that your club has to offer because this project will be expensive. We in South Carolina should spare no expense to make this a most memorable experience for those who visit us in June 2013.
